Welcome to Saké Puppets サケパペット! I’m Angela, and this is my husband Dan. We’re newly wed, and newly relocated to Tokyo, Japan. Thanks for joining us on all our (mis)adventures as we explore the food, craft, and culture of our new home!
Dan’s job moved us to Tokyo in May 2010 and we haven’t looked back stopped eating since. An editor and writer, Dan is a regular contributor to Comedy Central’s Indecision, though spends much of his day composing witty emails to his brothers (find one here and the other here).
I recently opened my very own Etsy shop, where I peddle sashiko-embellished handmade goods and craft kits with a Japanese influence. I also teach English craft classes in Tokyo at the English Craft Club/英語でCRAFT in partnership with my friend, Kimicat.
Our previous life had us living in Washington, DC, where I worked at an art gallery and Dan spent 10 months of his life in jury duty. Dan and I met our freshman year at college, and our rockin’ dance moves have been crazy-together since — a new modern old-fashioned love story.
If you’d like to contact either one of us, shoot an email to sakepuppets at gmail dot com. You can find other digital versions of us at Flickr and Facebook. And also Twitter and Twitter. And now Pinterest.
Thanks for stopping by!
